Time to Travel

Summer has finally arrived here in England. The temperatures have warmed up into the 70s and the sun has been shining. This weekend we all scatter to various corners of the globe. Lynlee and the kids are flying to Ohio, then travelling to Nashville. Ken goes to Ireland for a week of golf. Check out the golf locations! After that Ken flies to the US to meet up with Lynlee and the kids. The trip ends after we’ve joined Ken’s family to celebrate Don and Patsy Frampton’s 50th wedding aniversary.

April Update

We haven’t posted anything in a while but I have been posting pictures to thw WebAlbums.

Lynlee and I spent a weekend in Bath a few weeks ago. The kids stayed with friends while we goofed off.

We saw the Roman bath ruins, the abbey,and walked around town.

Tomorrow we are flying to Seville, Spain for 10 days!

Merry Christmas. What did you get?

Noah got a castle and knights to go with it.

Lynlee got up early (and an iPod).

Mary got nackered (tired).

And, of course, Ken got socks.

You Can’t Always Get What You Want

Yes, I think that Mick Jagger had it right a long time ago only he was referring to the British culture and we just thought he was talking about life. Remember guys he was a teenager when he wrote that song so he didn’t have the benefit of all our life long experiences. He was talking about ice cubes, ranch dressing, an electric plug in his bathroom so he could dry his hair, microwave popcorn, SUVs, ziplock bags, trash cans that match your decor, etc.

The culture in the US seems to cater more to our individual desires regardless of how many people actually want something. Say you want pancakes for dinner. Easy – go to a Pancake Pantry, Waffle House, Bob Evans and order them. No Problem – poof you got pancakes. I am in Gatwick last weekend waiting for my flight at 10:30am. I had eaten breakfast at home at 5:30am and was hungry so I went in a resturant in the food court. I wanted a salad but I couldn’t have that until 11:30 but they had a breakfast pizza on the menu so I thought I could handle that. I ordered and the waiter said they were out of that, they were also out of 2 other things I ordered. I finally asked them what they did have. Eggs. Thats it. Out of 10 things on the menu they had 5. It was a busy weekend, see.

Lynlee gets a BMW

Well I have finally been able to get a BMW!!!

That’s the good news.

The bad news is that I could only afford half of one.

Fortunately here in the UK they make 1/2 a car. This is actually a pretty normal sized car. There are lots that are smaller than this.
