Thanksgiving in Nashville

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving here in Nashville. Lynlee’s mother, father and grandmother came and we were joined by our close friend Teri Lingley with her daughter Caity from Dallas.

We smoked our turkey on the grill this year and it turned out really good. So good that Lynlee’s father, Bill, went home the next day a smoked a chicken on his grill. Among the fun for the day: Bill coached Noah on batting and fielding; we played poker with the new poker set Bill gave Lynlee; and I harassed Teri as much as humanly possibly.

Emily and Jenny Visit

My sister Jenny and niece Emily are visiting this week. Wenesday we went to Oxford. Here we are near the Natural History Museum. We convinced the girls to go into the museum by pointing out the fact that they have a gift shop.

On Friday we had decent weather so we went to Bournemouth beach. I actually got Emily to smile for this photo.Mary and Noah have been to Bournemouth several times before. There favorite thing to do there is to go on the bungy/trampoline ride. They got Emily to do it too.

Apparently my Dad talked my Mom in to letting him get a dog. She said he could get one only if it was cute. I think he succeeded.

Since Lynlee has been traveling so much lately I was allowed to go to the coast alone last Sunday afternoon. I would have taken Noah but I don’t think he and the cliffs along the Dorset coast would mix very well. Sunset was nice as you can see.

My Adventurous Cousin

My cousin, Amy Osborne, recently took a leave of absence from her job as a school teacher in Alexandria, Virginia. The purpose of the leave is to spend a year traveling around the world. This girl has guts. Her trip began in Australia which is tame enough. But then she moved on to China, Tibet and Vietnam. She recently posted some photos from Tibet, and I have to share my favorite with you.

After carefully inspecting this woman’s dental work, Lynlee and I suspect that Amy is not really in Tibet, but somewhere in England.

Time to Travel

Summer has finally arrived here in England. The temperatures have warmed up into the 70s and the sun has been shining. This weekend we all scatter to various corners of the globe. Lynlee and the kids are flying to Ohio, then travelling to Nashville. Ken goes to Ireland for a week of golf. Check out the golf locations! After that Ken flies to the US to meet up with Lynlee and the kids. The trip ends after we’ve joined Ken’s family to celebrate Don and Patsy Frampton’s 50th wedding aniversary.
